Minimum Required Equipment and Uniform

Gear and uniforms maintained as a minimum by TSM are for the benefit of the individual and their ability to contribute to the mission of the militia. Items listed are only the minimum for training and more is required to sustain operations for an extended period of time. Individuals are encouraged to pursue completion of their gear setup continuously as finances permit and seek the guidance of experienced members when making selections of important and/or expensive pieces of gear. The uniform for the Texas State Militia Infantry will be a minimum but not limited to:

• 2 Matching top and bottom sets of durable camouflage clothes suitable to the unit area of operations (Muliticam is Recommended, woodland camo as back up)

• 1 Set of serviceable boots in a subdued color

• 1 Hat matching or similar to clothing camouflage pattern (Boonie, Patrol Hat, Operator Ball Cap)

• 1 Set of non-reflective eye protection

The minimum gear loadout for Texas State Militia Coastal Unit Infantry will be:

• Semiautomatic rifle in assault rifle caliber (5.56, 7.62 x 39, etc. - 5.56 is recommended)

• Side arm with 3 magazines (40.cal is recommended)

• Kevlar helmet

• Minimum 210 rounds/7 magazines if your rifle uses magazines

• Minimum 1 full tang knife, minimum 4” long

• Quality plate carrier or rig with appropriate pouches (With armor plates)

• IFAK (individual first aid kit with supplys)

• Water source (minimum 2 quarts Camelback)

• Cleaning kit for rifle (a dry container with rag and oil)

• Whistle

• Magazine dump pouch

• Assault pack and/or rucksack for at least 72 hours

• UV82 Boafang Radio (we will program for you)

• Camo Face Paint
